As a former journalist and master’s degree student, I understand the huge amount of time and effort that goes into creating a written project you care about. Having worked in both Hong Kong and the UK, I have a broad range of editing experience.
I've worked on a variety of projects in commercial sectors, including news articles for journalists, website copy for NGOs, and brochure content for start-up companies.
My main area of expertise is within academia, specifically PhD theses and papers intended for publication. I also edit applications within further education, such as research proposals, long job applications, and personal statements.
So far, my academic editing work has spanned disciplines and topics, from photographic technology to feminism in Ibsen plays, molecular science to Hong Kong history, and beyond. Having the opportunity to learn about a wide array of subjects is an additional reward for me!

Proofreading
An essential final polish, checking for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting, so your work is error-free.
The rate for proofreading is 0.01p per word.
Copyediting
A deeper edit to improve clarity, flow, tone, and consistency, while keeping voice and meaning intact. Includes all elements of the proofreading service.
The base rate is 0.015p per word.
